The museum is in the former Rock Island Depot. We run the only rail based trolley system in the state of Oklahoma from the museum through downtown El Reno. We have several other historic buildings, the first American Red Cross Canteen and a building used by General Phillip Sheridan during his assignment to Indian Territory. The first weekend of May each year El Reno hosts The Worlds Largest Onion Burger Event and the first weekend of June El Reno hosts Small Town Weekend for car enthusiasts.
