The Blackhawk Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society has a deep interest and appreciation of railroad history and we are actively involved in its study and preservation.

Today's well-chronicled events are the historical record for tomorrow. Therefore, we are also working to document and record today's railroad events.

The Blackhawk Chapter holds monthly meetings that are open to the public and feature programs about railroading's past, present and future.

The Blackhawk Chapter has been an NRHS chapter since 1969. Our members include working and retired professional railroaders, historians, railfans and those who simply enjoy trains.

Located in the southern region of Chicago - The Railroad Capital of the World - we work with local communities, groups, historical societies and other organizations in developing and promoting events that recognize the railroad's significance and history.

Visit our website for complete information about our chapter, how we are studying and preserving railroad history and how you can join.
